Privacy policy

This policy explains cookies and similar browser storage used by SALAAM.earth. Cookies are small files stored by your browser; local storage remembers information on your device without sending it automatically with every request.

Essential storage

Essential services remain active because they are needed for sign-in, security and remembering your consent. Rejecting optional cookies does not disable them.

• Consent: salaam-cookie-consent in local storage records your selected categories and the date of your choice. A choice is valid for 180 days. We ask again after expiry or a material change to optional services. You can clear this record through your browser settings.
• Authentication: Supabase stores the session used for sign-in and admin access in browser storage and refreshes it while you remain signed in. Signing out removes the active session; clearing site storage also removes it.

Preferences — optional

When enabled, interface controls may remember a layout choice using the first-party sidebar_state cookie for up to seven days. This cookie is not written unless Preferences is accepted. Withdrawing Preferences removes accessible copies of this cookie.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and understand which pages are visited, from which referring sites, countries and device types. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not identify or track you across sites; visits are counted anonymously and data is kept in aggregate. Because it uses no cookies or device storage, it does not need an optional switch.

Marketing and external video players — optional

Some Media videos use YouTube or Vimeo. Embedded players are not loaded until Marketing is explicitly accepted and you select a video. These providers can receive your IP address, browser information and viewing activity, and may set their own cookies. Enabling this category does not install a separate advertising pixel on SALAAM.earth.

Withdrawing Marketing unloads affected players and prevents new embedded-player requests. We remove known optional first-party cookies where accessible. Your browser’s security rules prevent us from deleting cookies on YouTube or Vimeo domains; manage those in your browser or with the provider.

Provider information: Google / YouTube privacy policy and Vimeo privacy policy. Providers determine their own cookie lifetimes.

Other connections

The website also requests fonts from Google Fonts and images and documents from hosting services. These connections support displaying the site and are not controlled by optional-cookie switches. Authentication and submitted forms use Supabase. This policy is not a complete privacy notice for membership applications or other personal information you submit.

Change your choices

Use Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Accept all enables the optional categories listed above; Reject optional disables them. Save preferences applies your individual selections. Closing the preferences panel, scrolling or continuing to browse does not grant consent.
